To SAVE THE DATE... Round Two
Should my Save-the-Dates match the invitations to follow?
I would never fault anyone for matching their invitations! If you have a favorite design or pattern that you plan to incorporate into your invitations, menus, thank you cards, and all stationary items, then be my guest to use the same for your Save-the-Dates.
But the truth is that most brides don't know 6-12 months before their wedding what stationary pattern they want to carry through their entire wedding. And I don't think you need to know! I suggest using this opportunity to create something fun, playful and different! Use it as a chance to think outside the box!
Consider the location. For example, beach weddings are easy to do something creative! Have someone take a picture of you and your fiancé at the beach where you've carved out your wedding date in the sand. Or send an inexpensive pair of flip-flops in the mail with a Save-the-Date message tied to the shoes.
I'm currently planning a destination wedding to England and the couple decided to go with luggage tags as her Save-the-Dates. Since most guests will be traveling quite a distance, these hinted at the thought, "Prepare to pack your bags!" On their Save-the-Dates, the couple also went with a British theme using the British flag, along with the red and navy color scheme. Their guests loved it!
