Taking a Break from the Wedding

At some point in the planning process, you and your fiancé will probably find yourselves bogged down with Wedding "stuff." Maybe it's time to take a break? You may fight the idea of a break because there is so much to do and so little time! But ask yourself these questions:

  • "Is all your free time together spent talking about The Wedding?"

  • "Has your relationship dissolved into Wedding tasks and deadlines?"

  • "Is The Wedding creating conflict between you and your fiancé?"

Now is the time to act! Planning Your Wedding should be a joyful time of celebration; however, it can easily turn disastrous if you don't hold on to what brought you to this point: each other!

One of my favorite couples, Tara and Brett of Los Angeles, implemented a brilliant plan that I continue to recommend to my clients. Tara and Brett devoted one date per week in which they were not allowed to discuss the wedding.

Whether it was a dinner together, a walk along the beach, or even an outing to the movie theater, they made time together a priority without The Wedding. Warning: this tends to be more difficult for the Brides, a huge relief for the Grooms, but effective for both to relax and rejuvenate your relationship! I encourage YOU to try it out!
